Health Management Institute at Jaipur wins rave reviews at Spardha-2013: Dr. Ratika Sharma Wins first position at the National level



  • IIHMR, Jaipur once again during the year, stood tall with one of its students, Dr. Ratika Sharma, having bagged the First Position at Spardha-2013, a National Level Summer Training Presentation Competition held At IRM(FMS), Jaipur on November 16th, 2013.
  • The competition was fairly high in level and had five different categories of Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Agro-Business and Rural-Health. A total of 38 entries were received in the category of Rural-Health and six made it to the finals. Among the competitors, Dr. Ratika stood first and received INR 14000/- as cash reward along with a trophy and a certificate of appreciation.
  • Her Topic was: Knowledge, Attitude, Practice (KAP) - Study of Family Planning in Aligarh District (UP).

Some Glimpses of “UNESCO International workshop on gender and drought”, at Niger attended by Dr. Goutam Sadhu from 21st to 24th October 2013. 70 delegates from 16 countries representing all the continentals were participated in the workshop. Dr. Sadhu is also nominated as a core team member of preparing policy on drought mitigation with special reference to gender in Africa.

Under the leadership of Dr. S.D. Gupta, the SEAPHEIN will be able to achieve new heights to strengthen public health education in the region.

The South East Asia Public Health Institutes Network (SEAPHEIN) is supported by WHO-SEARO to promote the public health education and training in the region.

Management Development Programme On Result Based Management in Health Sector: October 7th-11th , 2013 at IIHMR, Jaipur

Result Based Management in Health Sector is a management approach whereby an organization ensures that all its processes, products and services contribute to the achievement of desired results, which has, in past sometime become the need of the hour under pressures from all directions for the purpose of optimal utilization of resources available.



In all 20 participants were there in the programme from Countries  like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Namibia and India along with Experts of International repute as the resource persons.

Pre-Conference Workshop: October 3rd and 4th, 2013.

Ø  The Institute of Health Management Research hosted the 18th International conference on ‘Healthcare India: Opportunities, Challenges and Innovations’ on its premises.

Ø  The way to primary level discussion was paved by a two-day Pre-conference workshop organized at the Institute campus on October 3rd and 4th, 2013.

Ø  Cost Optimization approaches in Healthcare, National Health Accounts, Patients for Patient-Safety and Healthcare Communication were the key topics of the pre-conference workshop, which proved out to be tremendously beneficial for the upcoming health and hospital managers.

Ø  Some of the Prominent speakers were Dr. Nittita Prasopa Plaizier from the World Health Organisation, Dr. Ram Narayan, Executive Director, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai, Dr. Sarit Kumar Rout, Health Consultant at Health Ministry, NHA.




Alumni Meet- ‘Maitreya’, at Institute of Health Management Research: October 4th, 2013.

o   Two most important factors that transform a Building into an Institution are efforts put in by the Institution and the final product received after doing so. If so be it, there is little doubt about the fact that the Alumni association is the reflection of the efforts made by any institution in the past.

o   The Former students of iihmr, Jaipur met on October 4th, 2013 to rejoice and hark back to their times spent at their Alma Mater several years ago. The Alumni Meet was rightly called ‘Maitreya’ signifying reunion in the most desired manner and the message of belong to one Institution with a strengthened sense of fraternity.

 o   The meet was concluded with a lavish Dinner the same evening.



International Conference on ‘Healthcare India: Opportunities, Challenges and Innovations’ Held at IIHMR, Jaipur on October 5th, 2013.

Ø  The 18th annual conference ‘Pradanya’ on ‘Healthcare India: Opportunities, Challenges and Innovations’, was conducted at IIHMR, Jaipur campus during 5th and 6th October, 2013.

Ø  The International Conference was inaugurated by Ms. Zahabia Khorakiwala, Managing Director, Wockhardt Hospital, India.

Ø   More than 650 Delegates from across the world took part in the conference. The conference had a galaxy of eminent speakers delivering in the field of Innovations and Opportunities in Healthcare. It saw and heard more than 35 experts during the two days.

Ø  There was a enthusiastic participation from people from the Industry, Hospitals, Health sector( both Government and Private ), Management Institutions, Public Health Departments and funding agencies like UNFPA, WHO and UNICEF etc.


30th Foundation Day Celebrations at Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur: Three Decades of Glory and Excellence. October 5th-2013

Ø  Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur celebrated its 30th Foundation Day on October 5th, 2013 at its expansive campus on the evening of October 5th.

Ø  Amidst a large gathering of the members of the staff, students, guests, members of the Alumni and several others, the Foundation Day was celebrated with extreme Joy and spirit.

Ø  IIHMR, Jaipur entered its 30th year of functioning and its excellence and contribution was appreciated by one and all.


Sun Pharma Awards former student of iihmr, Jaipur: Ocotber 5th, 2013
  •  Sun Pharma Ltd, a leading Pharmaceutical company of India awarded the two meritorious students of IIHMR, Jaipur on the Occasion of its Foundation Day celebrations on October 5th, 2013.
  •  The students awarded were Ms. Nikita Morbia and Ms. Ojasvi Tiwari of the Pharmaceutical Stream, who have recently passed out from the Institute in the year 2013. 
  • Ms. Nikita Morbia was present to receive her prize whereas Ms. Ojasvi Tiwari, due to her foreign posting couldn’t come to receive the prize personally. The prizes were distributed by Mr. Debashish Roy, HR Head, Sun Pharma, Mumbai.
